Painting Hair 101
This course is meant to help you conquer the overwhelm of illustrating hair and creating beautiful intricate paintings and drawings. We will use techniques and methods that I’ve made and found throughout the years to help you draw hair with ease.
Course Content
Hair for me, has always been one of the more challenging things to paint. Unlike a face, where you have a solid, easy to identify eyes, nose and mouth, hair always felt like two million spaghetti strands going all over the place. But through experimenting I’ve developed a method that simplifies it and makes it easier and more accessible to draw.
In this course, we will learn simplified methods for drawing and painting hair. We will be primarily using a mixed media method of acrylic and colored pencils, but the techniques can be applied to different mediums. I will teach the techniques of my color sketch method, which can help us block out and add detail to your hair illustrations.
